On the 20 September just under 100 people took part in this
year's ARCH Tenants Conference kindly hosted by Birmingham City
Council at the historic Council House.
The annual ARCH Tenants Conference is organised by the ARCH
Tenants Group for tenants of ARCH member councils. Tenant
representatives on the ARCH Tenants Group worked with the event
management team from HouseMark to plan and develop the conference
programme and venue arrangements and they play a very hands on part
on the day. The conference was chaired by Jenny Hill, ARCH Tenants
Group Chair and members of the Tenants Group chaired workshops;
registered and met and greeted delegates and speakers and helped
with other event management tasks on the day. All an example of
great team work.
With social housing being high on the political agenda right now
this year's 11th Annual Tenant Conference was fully
subscribed with all available delegate places taken up. Tenants
from ARCH member councils across the country heard the latest on
how the Consumer Standards are regulated, the plans for roll out of
Universal Credit and what they might expect in terms of government
housing policy following publication of the Housing White Paper,
the outcome of the General Election and the tragic events at
Grenfell Tower and recent announcement of a Housing Green Paper on
the future of social housing.

Photographs from the Tenant Conference are now available. Where
you there? Can you spot yourself in the photo?
