Tuesday 3 February ARCH will be hosting a reception at the House of
Commons in conjunction with the National Federation of ALMOs.
The event, kindly sponsored by Heather Wheeler MP for South
Derbyshire, will give ARCH the opportunity to set out its manifesto
for the forthcoming general election which will be launched at the
event. Now, more than ever, it is important to make the case
for council housing and build on the success in achieving
self-financing in 2012. Amongst the proposals outlined in the
manifesto are measures to increase the supply of council housing
through the lifting of debt caps and support for efforts to replace
homes sold under right to buy.
All ARCH member councils have already received an invitation to
send a delegate to this important event and were asked to respond
by 12 January. If your authority has not responded to the
invitation and would like to attend you should email Josh Aulak at
as soon as possible. Places are limited and any remaining places
will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
