One hundred and twenty-one
delegates and speakers attended the ARCH Annual Tenant Conference
held in September. This year's conference was hosted by the London
Borough of Croydon under the theme "Tenants 4 Tenants". With the
post-election budget and the pending Housing Bill there was
certainly plenty to talk about.
Delegates heard from Camilla Sheldon,
Deputy Director, Community Rights Division at the Department for
Communities & Local Government on the government's plans to
give local communities a greater say over matters that affect
them.
Workshop sessions included discussions
on Effective Tenant Involvement, Tenant Satisfaction Surveys, The
Future of Council Housing and a practical look at how the London
Borough of Barking & Dagenham is tackling anti-social
behaviour.
