We are currently preparing our annual survey into the impact of
welfare reform on ARCH & NFA landlords and tenants.
We are keen to ensure a good response and are asking as many
ARCH member councils as possible to participate in this year's
Survey forms were sent out last month and the survey deadline is
Friday 8 June 2018.
We would like to thank those ARCH member councils that have
already submitted their return and in particular Ipswich BC, South
Derbyshire DC, Warwick DC, Epping Forest DC, Ashfield DC, Brighton
and Hove DC, & Southampton City Council for submitting their
We will be chasing up responses from other members in the next
The plan is to compile a draft report by no later than 22 June
and to publish the final report by 11 July 2018.
This year's survey report will form part of a series of reports
which have assisted ARCH & the NFA in arguing the case with Ministers for appropriate
reforms and on-going dialogue with DWP officials in the way in
which Universal Credit is being rolled out and following
publication of last year's report "Pause for thought", the Government
subsequently announced a number of significant concessions, called
for in our report, in the role out of Universal Credit including
some of those suggested in our report.
Please help us to make sure that the Government fully understand
the impact of welfare reform on social landlords and tenants by
ensuring that if your council has been asked to complete the
welfare reform survey you do so as quickly as possible.
If you wish to discuss the survey please contact ARCH Policy
