You may already have received a survey request from Ministry of
Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to provide
information about your local authority's plans to provide new
affordable housing over the next 5 years and the barriers you face
in delivering these plans. The survey covers delivery both within
and outside the HRA. MHCLG is also interested in hearing from local
authorities with no planned delivery during this period to better
understand the main housebuilding challenges they face. This
information will then be used to inform a range of departmental
bids at the upcoming Spending Review. The survey form is
here.
This is a reminder that, in order to meet the Spending Review
timetable, it is extremely important that MHCLG gain as many
responses as possible by 31 January 2025. Responses
should be sent to council-housebuilding@communities.gov.uk.
