The government has invited and published guidance on
applications for the
Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (formerly known as the Social
Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 3). The fund opened for
applications in the week beginning 30 September 2024 and will close
on 25 November 2024. There are some important differences from
previous waves of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.
There are two routes to access funding: via the Challenge Fund and
via Strategic Partnerships. Individual and consortium applications
will be permitted via both routes. Organisations with "a proven
track record of delivery and whose applications display ambitions
aligning with our strategic priorities" will be able to access
funding via strategic partnerships, without providing details of
the individual homes to be improved until works begin.
A key principle of the Challenge Fund is that all applications
that meet the minimum requirements of the scheme will be awarded
funding, although if the scheme is oversubscribed, not necessarily
at the level requested. The amount of funding available will be
decided in the Spending Review and announced in the Spring
Budget.
