ARCH response to the Hackitt Review

We have been discussing the Government’s plans for introduction of mandatory fixed term tenancies with MHCLG officials and would like to hear from ARCH member councils that have already introduced fixed term tenancies for their housing stock.

CLG Select Committee inquiry: the ARCH response

Reduction in housing rents: DCN survey

The District Council’s Network (DCN) have issued a survey to their members to assess the impact of the proposals to force councils to reduce rents. ARCH is supporting that survey and would encourage ARCH members to respond.

Proposals to streamline the resale of shared ownership properties
18/02/2015
Providers of shared ownership housing with grant from the AHP are required to include clauses in the lease reserving the right to nominate a purchaser when the shared ownership householder wishes to sell. The Government is consulting on whether this provision is a barrier to onward sale of shared ownership leases and whether it should be retained or amended.
